Eva Cichá
From Czechia to Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
My name is Eva Cichá and four years ago I moved from Czechia to Colombia, to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains.
Land of coffee
Colombia is a land of coffee. Hundreds of thousands of families grow it here, generation after generation, from dawn to dusk. Little by little, I became interested in it too.
On the farms
I started travelling between farms, meeting farmers and watching the whole process from flower to harvest. What I saw there completely drew me in.
I understood how much work, care and decisions stand behind every single cup.
A different view
Coffee used to be nothing more than an ordinary part of my day. I would have one with friends at a café and I really knew nothing about it. Only here did I understand.
Why
I decided I did not want to keep it to myself. I want to show people where coffee truly comes from, how it tastes when it is made well, and that behind it there are always real people and their work.
